Lassen Volcanic National Park

After visiting Mt. Hood and the Columbia Gorge (luckily the day before the Eagle Creek fire got out of hand) I went back to the Oregon coast to a) get out of the smoke again and b) to meet up with my friends Chris & Conny from Offroad-Travelers. First time we met was last November in Zurich to discuss our Panamericana plans. We both didn’t really know what to expect but I think this kind of traveling was everything we were hoping for and more!

Unfortunately the coast was foggy and cold, thus I decided to head east again to lake Tahoe.

On the way there I saw a sign to the Lassen Volcanic National Park. I’ve never heard of it before but decided to check it out. A good decision! The Lassen NP is almost like a mini Yellowstone with no crowds at all. It has amazing hikes, Geothermal areas and all types of volcanos. Interestingly enough I met more Germans during the three days I was there than on the rest of the trip so far… Must be a secret German getaway 😀
